Performance Equestrian and Therapy Riding Academy is a private, veteran-owned riding academy in Northern Virginia. Based at Poplar Ford Farm immediately next to Manassas National Battlefield Park, PETRA riders can access miles of trails for leisure riding, and then return to the farm to practice in indoor and outdoor arenas for horsemanship and therapy instruction. PETRA owners are:

• career veterans who served a combined 34 years as active-duty officers in the United States military;

• experienced, lifelong equestrian instructors who have been teaching equine therapy and horsemanship for over ten years;

• local residents of Northern Virginia who know the areas life patterns, weather, and resources.
