Introductory & Evaluation Lesson
After we gather some basic information and ask you to sign a liability waiver, your Introductory & Evaluation Lesson will include:
- A brief conversation about your riding background, goals, and any experience you've had with horses
- A ground safety orientation covering how to safely approach, lead, and handle horses before you ever get in the saddle
- A mounted assessment at the walk (and trot, if appropriate) so our instructors can observe your balance, position, and comfort level
- An honest skills evaluation — whether you're a true beginner or a returning rider, we'll place you accurately so your lessons are safe, productive, and fun
- A conversation about your riding interests — whether that's english saddle, western saddle, or therapeutic or adaptive riding
- A recommended lesson path tailored to your goals, ability level, and the right horse match for you
This session is about getting to know you — there are no wrong answers and no pressure. We just want to make sure every rider starts their PETRA journey safely and confidently.
